We finally made it to Prague.  Thad & Andrew were champs on the plane and managed
to get cut of from the alcohol bar and then get invited back for more.   Amazing! 
I woke up at 5:45am and woke up the others.  Andrew and I found a store that had
some cheap food compared to the dinner in Old Town we had last night in front of
the clock. It’s 8:20 am and we’ve eaten and ready to go skate.  Were really close to one of the
best places to skate in Prague.   I’ll check back in tonight or first thing in the morning!

Check out this footage from Banksy’s Santa’s Ghetto Exhibition in Bethlehem. Ron English, SWOON, and JetSet Graffiti donated artwork to Santa’s Ghetto and traveled there to paint on the Apartheid Wall and work in solidarity with the elusive British artist Banksy.
This is all part of an effort to raise awareness of the horrible reality that face Palestinian and Israeli people everyday. This video is amazing because these artists basically ventured into a large war-zone and are tagging on walls to make an incredible statement on society. The exhibition raised 1 million dollars for the kids of Palestine.

The fine folks at Vestal did this little number with their surf destroyer, Clay Marzo. Clay is an up and coming phenom in surfing and is actually one of my favorite surfers to watch right now. How is he in front of a camera? Pretty classic.
 

If you’re not familiar with The Berrics, you should definitely check in sometimes. They have a full site of media, videos, and photos from Steve Berra’s and Eric Koston’s skate park called “The Berrics”. You may have previously seen the park in episodes of Rob & Big, and they produce a ton of videos with teams from across the nation coming in and throwing down some tricks. Well, right now they have a full page of “BANGIN” which you can check out by visiting the official Berrics, Banging Webpage.
The one thing that I don’t like about The Berric’s, and it is minor, its that you can’t directly download any of their media. But some people are able to decompile the flash player, and bring you gems like: Jason Lee Skateboarding at the Berrics, and I don’t mean classic Jason Lee footage, I mean recent footage, like this below, just wait for it…it’s the whole Stereo Team, but you can clearly see Jason Lee midway through skateboarding and featured:

Just days after the internet was buzzing with Vince’s part in a the Chocolate Skateboards Television edit, here he comes out of the gate with a new shoe sponsor, that being the big boys over at Lakai Footwear. A lot of people want to call Vans the Number 1 skate shoe company, but Lakai has basically took a shot at the empire, and is building up to the number one spot shortly. They are definitely gunning for it, and with the latest signee, they might as well call Vans into check, because Lakai Limited is fulfilling a big gap in the skateboarding shoe market. Rune Glifberg took first place in the Quiksilver Bowlriders contest, making for a great month for Glifberg. He’s coming off a banner month with skate magazine coverage and now this! Rune Glifberg also won the event last year, ousting some heavy hitters in skateboarding. Quiksilver has been pushing their skateboarding division as of late, and this contest is definitely one of the better events that I’ve seen in a while. I went once, and had an all you can eat experience that has never been matched since. I could have closed the place down, but I was so full….and well….nevermind. As we all know, local boy Jamie O’Brien, took the 2008 Da Hui Backdoor Shootout back in January and took home a cool $50,000. He was followed by Bruce Irons who nabbed $25k and Ola Eleogram who brought home $15 g’s. DC Shoes just released the following footy from the contest. I live in Newbury Park… pretty much in the middle of nowhere!
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Agoura. It’s about 10min north of the valley. I started skating there, then moved to N.P. when I was 16.
What do you miss about your hometown? What don’t you miss?
Well if were talking about Agoura… I don’t miss anything. That place sucks! Newbury has it’s ups and downs. It’s cool because all my friends live out
here, but other then that it’s pretty standard.
Favorite place to get away from it all?
I’m still looking for that place!
Do you do any other sports?
Surf and Snowboard… I’m going for the XXX award this year at the Xgames!
What kind of kid were you in school?
I was actually a pretty good kid. I never really got into trouble in school. I just wanted to skate. I was a total skate rat. It was a little different back then though because skating wasn’t really popular yet. So I wasn’t cool in high school and I didn’t really have a ton of friends. We were kind of just outcast. We just didn’t get a shit about anything but skating!
 
What’s your typical day like?
My day is pretty much the same everyday. I wake up around 11am, meet up with some people and go skate. I usually get home around 10pm and just chill.
How many airports have you been to in the last 3 months?
Jeeze… maybe 15!
What’s your favorite part about traveling?
My favorite part about traveling is skating new spots. I seriously base everything off of skating. If there’s nothing to skate in that city then I write that city off. I get soo burnt out on skating the same spots every single day, so it’s so nice going to skate new spots.

What’s your family like? Do they skate?
My family’s pretty athletic. My dad and my sister both surf. My mom kinda just chills. Does the whole mom thing. And my little brother skates. He’s really good!!!

To tell you the truth, I’m not a huge internet person. I like being out and doing shit ya know! But if I am on the internet it’s either for myspace or The Berrics!

I flew off of a motorcycle going about 45mph. That put me out for a couple months!

I don’t really play video games, but one of my friends brought nintendo wii over. That stupid thing is pretty fun! We were playing tennis for like 5 hours.

Well we have seen what skateboard reality tv can do, now why not give skateboard-related rap a listen? Fly Society, the new rap group that includes Pro Skateboarder Terry Kennedy, newcomer, “Hit”, and former Lil Wayne affiliate, Currens$y, have released a new song and video called “Fresh”.

Element skateboards presents the latest video from their many adventures. This one features a contest in Southern California, complete with a little commentary, and back story. It’s nice to see Element Skateboards is giving back to the AMS and those riders that rip, but aren’t necessarily pro just yet.

In an interesting move by any band, Chiodos is going to be doing a show live online. This is not the first time a band has tried to broadcast a concert online, as many radio stations do this all the time for bands. However, this time it’s not going to be free, and the promoters are promising full resolution high definition streaming HD video. That’s right, HD quality streaming video and audio with multiple angles, and full interactivity with the band. That’s not all, you’ll also be able to request songs and hear what you want to hear from the band, all of this live and in full motion video.
The downside?

How legit is the Uganda skate scene? A group in Uganda has recently formed a union called the Uganda Skateboard Union. Extreme boredom in Uganda has led the youth to create a very inspiring program that is taking the African country by storm. 
This video is part of a larger work in progress which will show the construction of the park, history of the organization, interviews of the skaters and footage of their progression.

Love him or hate him, Bam Margera has indirectly and directly influenced skateboarding lifestyle in many different ways. Most recently, Element Skateboards updated their website with some footage of Chris Cole, Bam Margera, and friends skateboarding in Bam’s private skateboard asylum. It looks better than Berra’s warehouse featured on Rob & Big, that’s for sure. Then again, maybe Bam’s got deeper pockets.
