Supra is known for being creative and original and a little bit more flashy than any other skate shoe brand. The new Vader in yellow pictured above is nothing less. It’s a cross between fashion and function and features a patent leather upper and vulcanized sole. If you have ever skated a pair of Supra’s or even just tried on a pair, you know they are damn comfy. The Supra Vaders are no exception. Src: hypebeastMore info: supra

Nike just released the new P Rod 2 which comes in black/lava/white. Paul Rodriguez must be pretty stoked on life right now because these are some ill looking kicks. Oh wait, P Rod is stoked on life because he pulls all kinds of chicks and has deep pockets. Well regardless, thanks for the shoes. These are already popping up in shops all over.

Just days after the internet was buzzing with Vince’s part in a the Chocolate Skateboards Television edit, here he comes out of the gate with a new shoe sponsor, that being the big boys over at Lakai Footwear. A lot of people want to call Vans the Number 1 skate shoe company, but Lakai has basically took a shot at the empire, and is building up to the number one spot shortly. They are definitely gunning for it, and with the latest signee, they might as well call Vans into check, because Lakai Limited is fulfilling a big gap in the skateboarding shoe market. Or maybe I’m just out of my mind. Here’s the welcome video for Vincent Alvarez, Lakai Team Rider:

Not long ago the skateboarding community was rocked, when Steve Rocco (no pun intended) sold World Industries for the sum of 20 Million Dollars. Pushing the brand into a mainstream world wide that it hasn’t really capitalized on in the skateboarding industry since.
Well, dying brands are still worth something, as we saw in the past when Larry Flynt bought Big Brother magazine. Such is the case with Duffs. Duffs wasn’t exactly a huge name in the skate shoe market, where new comers and new brands (Lakai for instance) were taking off into main skateboarding markets. Duffs has been sold to a UK company, according to Transworld business , and is moving forward to close their California offices.
What is the future of Duffs as a brand? Time will tell.

Dvs shoes pulls out all the stops in this commercial for the new Zered shoe coming out. Dvs skate shoes has been pulling out all the stops, to try and compete with the Lakai Fully Flared hype that had the skate world frozen for the first half of this month. Now as we pick up our jaws off the floor, we see that the b footage is not reserved for shoe companies any longer.

Etnies founder recently sat down with Format Magazine in an interview that covered a long list of topics, from the inception of Etnies in the mid 80’s to the growth of their skate shoes on a global scale. Trying to get your message across to the world is getting easier for skateboarding companies that are smart enough to realize the internet is a great way to deliver said message. Etnies has recently updated their blog with an all new layout and design, so that you can keep track of all the good things they are doing. Etnies, you may have heard, recently signed Ryan Sheckler to a whole new deal that is going to see the company reap the benefits of having one of their main riders on television on a weekly basis. I’m sure sales are huge right now, but that’s beside the point. Etniesskateboarding.com is alive and well, and you can check out their blog at any time.
