The new site from the Rome SDS is live.
Drop into www.romesnowboards.com to check out the new 1/1 Agents and reverse-cambered 1985 Artifacts, the new late 70s-era Bowery-influenced Libertine boots, the new neon-light 390s that fit seamlessly on the Artifact, and of course the new outerwear collection, featuring the Draggers Only and Vagrant jackets.
After a tour through the product collection, stop into the new Syndicate section with more ways than ever to get involved in the SDS: post videos easily or enter the Local GNAR contest on ShredTV, post your thoughts on “This Is Snowboarding” alongside Bjorn, LNP, snowboard magazine editors and shop owners, enter the Flophouse Gallery contest to win a grip of boards for you and your crew, or send your feedback on Rome gear easily through the Test Center.
Another new addition to the site is the SDS Blog, a place where you can hear the interests, opinions, and rants of artists, designers, reps and other people deep inside the SDS as they spout off about snowboarding, art, and non-snowboarding topics.
For those bathroom moments when you’d rather flip a page, sign up for the new Rome catalog that started shipping last week—delivered free to your door as always.

This past season, LNP filmed his part for No Correct Way after lacing up the new black Libertines each day, or night, that he went out. We thought of giving out the boots he used this past winter to someone in need, but since no one really wants used, stanky snowboard boots, we decided against it. Instead, we’re giving two lucky shreds out there the chance to win a NEW pair of RomeLibertine boots signed by LNP.
Here’s the first way to win:
Correctly answer these four questions and email the answers to winner@romesnowboards.com along with your full name and mailing address and we’ll pick one winner at random.
1. What type of liner does the Libertine boot have?
2. Name one thing that’s on fire in the No Correct Way Teaser (we mean real fire not in the 1994 NBA JAM “he’s on fire” sense)
3. What color do you prefer in the Libertine?
4. What mountain is LNP at where he’s up on a rail throwing the peace sign?
Here’s the second way to win:
You may notice in the teaser that LNP’s looking a little like Jimi Hendrix has possessed his soul these days. The question is, can you be go one step further in the 1967 hippie style?
All you have to do is send in a photo of you dressed up in your most hippie, (or not dressed up if your everyday gear is a Woodstock fest) and email it into winner@romesnowboards.com with your full mailing address and name and we’ll pick one winner with the best outfit.
All entries must be in by July 13th 2008
Winners will receive their boots by October 1st

The Rome SDS and Kids on Shred Productions is proud to announce the second annual “Local Gnar” contest. That’s right, the time has come again to get your crew together and film your local scene. Short films of up to 5 minutes will be accepted by Rome until April 1st 2008. Videos will be judged by the Rome team and Kids on Shred Productions. Winners will be chosen based on creativity, originality, and an overall inclusion of the themes that make Rome and the original “Gnar” video great. All video entrants will be competing for a chance to win $1,000 and load of new Rome product.
Local Gnar is evolving in 07-08, becoming it’s own section on the Rome website. With the launch of Shred TV on the Rome site, local crews can submit their videos for broadcast on the ShredTV page, and for selection to be featured on Rome’s homepage. The Local Gnar Contest is also back for it’s second year, with cash and product prizes.
To post your crew’s videos on Rome’s ShredTV and to learn about how to participate in the upcoming season’s Local GNAR contest check the Local Gnar section of the Rome website: www.romesnowboards.com/syndicate/shredtv/.
