Mike Mo Capaldi and Matix are throwing a party tonight at the Skate Lab in Simi Valley, CA. Matix will be celebrating the release of Mike Mo’s fall signature products, and there is also an open public seshn with Mike Mo. The event starts at 8 and goes to midnight.

Matix is proud to announce the addition of Jesus Fernandez to the team. The Spanish skater, currently residing in the European skate-Mecca, Barcelona, joins team riders Daewon Song, Rick McCrank, Brandon Biebel, Jeron Wilson, Van Wastell, JB Gillet, Tory Pudwill, Mike Mo Capaldi, Marty Murawski, Mike Anderson, Rodney Mullen and Thrasher magazine’s ‘Skater of the Year’, Marc Johnson on the International line-up for 2008 after turning heads with his break-through video part in Lakai’s, Fully Flared. ”We’re really excited to have Jesus onboard with Matix. He’s a perfect fit on the team.” said Tony Evjenth, Matix Team Manager. “His Lakai video part has opened many eyes to what we’ve known for years - that he rips like no other.” Jesus first started skating with his brothers in his hometown of Madrid before moving to Barcelona 4 years ago. Jesus is about to have his first board released on Chocolate and is currently filming for forthcoming video projects. Plans are also in the pipeline for getting him on the road this year with the Matix team. Matix joins Lakai, Chocolate and Royal in support for Jesus in 2008 and beyond. “This is going to be good,”said Jesus.

Matix is proud to announce the addition of Brian Toth to the team. Toth is a 22-year old charger who hails from Isabela, Puerto Rico. Tothy first gained National attention when he won Explorer Juniors, Explorer Mens and Open Mens at the 2003 NSSA Eastern Championships. Tothy’s hat trick was a first in NSSA regional history. Since that time he has gone on to a career high rating of 55th on the WQS and notched wins at the 2006 Unsound Pro in New York and the 2007 Belmar Pro in New Jersey.
Tothy will be focusing his energy in ‘08 on photo trips and the domestic professional events. “I am super psyched to be with a company like Matix that finally shares my vision of both competing and shooting photos!” Tothy will be charging right out of the New Year’s gate into the WQS 5* at Sebastian Inlet in Florida and then onto some magazine trips. “You couldn’t ask for better qualities in a team rider such as Tothy. You can drop him in all types of conditions from 2-20 ft. and he’ll blow up. Plus he knows how to win heats!” said Brandy Faber, Matix Surf Brand Manager. Keep your eyes peeled for Tothy in 08!
