Been skating everyday after work, best thing to get you through the day. I have a few photos to share.
On Memorial day we were setting up at the Golden Mill which is a feed store in downtown. It’s not a huge spot but a good place to warm up. After about three attempts the cops roll in. Happy Memorial day. Two filmers, Ian and I were ticketed for trespassing. Which brought Ian to an all time high of four tickets in one week.
The sunsets have been pretty good for the last few days so we decided to do some shooting around that time. We were a bit late but had a blast on this little known mini. It’s amazing to skate this ramp, especially once it starts to cool down.
Spy has been churning out some exciting color schemes for their Richelle womens’ sunglass series. Sure to stand out, they offer just the right combo of ‘here I am’ meets little old lady. I personally am waiting for my pair of lasered green w/ yellow to arrive in the mail.
These are my 3 personal faves, but of course, they supply the typical black and tortoise shell for the more subtle fashionistas… but even those have a bit of twist.
Simone Legno, Italian graphic designer who started the Tokidoki clothing line, has been one busy bee over the last year. His wildly popular japanimation style characters have donned t-shirts for about 5 years now and he has been a big feature at the Vegas Apparel Pool Show and the Mercedes Benz fashion week decorations. His skate decks are so popular, that they tend to become collectors items that don’t even have the honor of hitting the pavement.
Now he’s branching into new territory with a collaboration with New Era for some hats coming out with his new apparel lines. These hats and about 6 more styles are now available for sale at www.shop.tokidoki.it
His next collaboration was to join with Ride Snowboards for a new tokidoki/ Ride line. This all black and pink spread is jam-packed with his mass-printed character style, complete with limited edition Tokidoki bindings, board and boots. Neither the Ride Snowboards site or Tokidoki has spilled the beans on when these will be released, but I’m sure we will start seeing them hit the shelves when the snow starts to drop again.
Our homeys at Factor 54 are throwing a party at Rudy’s in Newport Beach, CA. The party is called ‘FREAKS OF THE NIGHT’ and is sure to bring out the freak in you. If you live in Cali, this will be the place to be the night of the 26th. There will be product giveaways, loud music, and all kinds of babes to get freaky with.
I am always on-line, messing around with different websites, signing up… seeing what they are all about etc. So one day I came acrossRidersVoice.com[ a site for snowboarders to rate/ review the boards they own/ ride ] and I created a profile and started rating my boards. A couple of days later I got a ‘thank you’ email from some dude from RidersVoice, I wrote back and we found out that we are practically neighbors. he lives about an eight minute walk from my place. I thought that was extremely random.
Oakley is killing right now with their Oakley Frogskins sunglasses. These things are turning into collector’s items and selling out fast. Are frogskins the new iphone? Normally you would pay around $100 for these on the Oakley website, but they are sold out there was well. You can still get them on eBay but they are marked up way over the MSRP. Each month Oakley is introducing a new color to the collection.
Last month we told you about the Yellow Neon, Fire Oakley Frogskins, this month it’s the Rootbeer + Fire combo. These are hot, if you have some or find a killer deal somewhere, let us know.
The Bloodsucking Toy Machine skateboarding company is getting their crew in a van and moving up west through the coast. The west coast, and will be bringing the whole team this time around. They most likely will be using a lot of the stops for footage in their upcoming skateboarding video, and you can be a part of it. If you managed to catch them on their Lurkfest tour, then you’re going to be in for a good time when the Toy Machine skateboard team lands at local shops, parks, and more for signings and demo’s.
Just when you thought the internet provides free content via youtube and other locations, you hit a site that doesn’t allow you to share media. Such is the case with Bones Wheels, and their latest footage from Damn Am. Sure, they don’t want people pirating their footage or taking content away from their website, but come on…throw us poor skateboard fans a bone. The Silver Trucks crew have just released their third teaser trailer for their upcoming summer video. This video features the team doing a lot of talking, where as the other videos were just spots getting hit by one of the best teams in skateboarding.
