Blue Tile Lounge, Chocolate Skateboards, Momentum Wheels and a few other companies are collaborating over what maybe the feel good skateboarding release this year. The preview trailer is not half bad, the editing looks decent, and things could be looking really good for this one. Here is the trailer for Four Letter Word:

Nomad Skateboards Montage

The Spanish skateboarders have been producing some high quality, high def footage as of late and here is another great quality edit. Nomad Skateboards introduces some of their best tricks and stops from their tour of the European nation and then some. It’s not half bad; who knew the skate scene in Spain was so hot right now?

10 Deep Presents Summer Line

Posted on by smallakin | +Add a Comment »

New York City based streetwear line whose motto is: forget everyone and listen to yourself just released their Summer 08 lookbook.  They’ve named the collection the Black Palms collection and the theme is ‘Party while you’re still living.’  The flipbook style lookbook showcases a couple dozen new styles in a Jersey-set party…not the typical line sheet you get from most clothing companies.  You can check out the new styles at www.10deep.com/SUMMER08PREVIEW

Sean Malto Lands Slap Magazine Cover

Sean Malto has been on a roll as of late, first going Pro and now landing the cover of Slap Magazine. The Magazine has some 17+ odd pages of Sean Matlo talking about everything from skateboarding to personal life. Slap Magazine hasn’t exactly been my favorite magazine for a long time, but it’s still doing quite well in regards to promoting art and skateboarding in a seamless fashion. Check out the issue at newsstands now.

Vince Alvarez Joins Lakai Footwear

Posted on by sirjorge | +Add a Comment »

Just days after the internet was buzzing with Vince’s part in a the Chocolate Skateboards Television edit, here he comes out of the gate with a new shoe sponsor, that being the big boys over at Lakai Footwear. A lot of people want to call Vans the Number 1 skate shoe company, but Lakai has basically took a shot at the empire, and is building up to the number one spot shortly. They are definitely gunning for it, and with the latest signee, they might as well call Vans into check, because Lakai Limited is fulfilling a big gap in the skateboarding shoe market. Or maybe I’m just out of my mind. Here’s the welcome video for Vincent Alvarez, Lakai Team Rider:

The Cool Kids “The Bake Sale EP”

The Cool Kids
The Bake Sale EP
Chocolate Industries

The Cool Kids, Chuck Inglish and Mikey Rocks, have released a block rocking EP. The Chicago based duo, the self proclaimed “Black Beastie Boys”, mix old school beats with a relaxed organic flow. Establishing their own label and rocking house parties in Chicago, Mikey and Chuck recently signed to Chocolate Industries to release their EP. After finding out domestic and international demand for their music was higher than they could handle, they needed help to press records. And with such a unique sound, this comes as no surprise. The Cool Kids’ best track on The Bake Sale is “What It Is”. It uses a call and response technique reminiscent of the earliest MC’s. Anyone who has seen them will tell you that they rock the party by engaging the audience and energizing the crowd. “What It Is” captures this feel, while dropping a fast paced ride cymbal, bass drum, and snare backbeat that would induce swaggering heads and break dancing in even the squarest of audiences. The Cool Kids have recently played shows overseas in Australia and Europe, and are currently on tour in the States. Catch them at Lollapalooza and Outside Lands or else you’re a loser. – Jonathan Mendick, Mannerist Zine

Kr3W NS and Supra NS

kr3w_supra.jpg

Kr3w and Supra are expanding outside of the skateboarding market and tapping into the fashion industry with their brand new NS lines which stands for ‘Non Skate’. The NS lines will feature more sophistication and fashion-centric goods, as well as less logo placement.

I think this is a good move for Kr3w as it allows them to target all the really steezy kids that don’t skate but are super into fashion. You will continue to see more and more brands doing this sort of thing as it means more coins in the piggy bank.

The word is, this line is going to drop sometime in september. You can catch a few sneak peaks at the product below:
