Kelly Slater Digital Tattoo

Posted on by zebra | 1 Comment »

Found these images online today of living surf legend, Kelly Slater. These images are done by Alberto Seveso, an artist from the UK. Maybe he can leave a comment below and describe what this is all about. Looks pretty insane though. Nice work Alberto.

Seshn.com Cover Artist: Kelly D. Williams

kdw_header.jpg

While most recognized artists & designers are conventionally bred in the artistic incubation of trendy hotspots on the left and right coasts of the United States, it was in the foyers of an archetypal school in a small town that unconventional artist Kelly D. Williams cut his creative teeth. Taking an unapologetic and raw style from his background of skateboarding and unrefined music, Kelly manages to mess and impress using otherwise incompatible mediums.

Kelly is the definition of a multi-tasker. From designing art for Analog Clothing to forming all kinds of companies from Snowboards, to design firms, Kelly is all over the place and is one of the hardest working people I know, even though I have not known him for very long.

Since day one, Kelly has been backing Seshn. We are pleased to unveil the first ‘canvas cover art’, and couldn’t be any more stoked than to have Kelly be displaying his work for us proudly here on the homepage.

[VIDEO] Banksy’s Santa’s Ghetto Exhibition

Posted on by zebra | +Add a Comment »

Check out this footage from Banksy’s Santa’s Ghetto Exhibition in Bethlehem. Ron English, SWOON, and JetSet Graffiti donated artwork to Santa’s Ghetto and traveled there to paint on the Apartheid Wall and work in solidarity with the elusive British artist Banksy.

This is all part of an effort to raise awareness of the horrible reality that face Palestinian and Israeli people everyday. This video is amazing because these artists basically ventured into a large war-zone and are tagging on walls to make an incredible statement on society. The exhibition raised 1 million dollars for the kids of Palestine.

The Game X Travis Barker - “Dope Boys”

I was recently reading an interview with The Game and he said the Travis Barker is his homeboy. They are both artists, and they are both tatted up, although I think it’s safe to say that Travis is working The Game in that category. The much anticipated new LAX album by The game is getting closer to it’s release. Here is a sneak peak at the track “Dope Boys” featuring T Bark.

It looks like Oakley Frogskins are going to be hanging around for a longtime. The latest madness surrounding the hype is this upcoming pair which collabo’s with Colette, an artsy centric boutique in France. For all you Frenchies, French lovers or French wannabe’s, these things come in transparent plastic frames and feature stars that match Colette’s iconic blue color. Bring on the next collabo Oakley.

Boost Mobile presents Sneaker Pimps Los Angeles

If you are out in the LA area, def check out the August 1st event from http://sneakerpimps.net.  They have Public Enemy, Ghostface Killah, Kids in the Hall and various DJ’s performing on the stage… but what the real show is in my opinion are the live art installation shows that will be going on throughout the concert.

Art will be created live by one of my faves, Tokidoki (tokidoki.it), Peekaboo!monster  peekaboomonster.com), Peabe  pea-be.com) and others.  If you haven’t checked out these guys art before, go take a peek.  All 3 are known for their stylized characters, tokidoki has branched into many arenas, including some sick skate decks; Peekaboo! is starting to do the same; and Peabe is just busy creating some way out there sketches.  Click to see more for some art previews from these three guys.

Win Rome Libertine Boots Signed by LNP

Posted on by zebra | 1 Comment »

bts_lib_trioburst.jpg

This past season, LNP filmed his part for No Correct Way after lacing up the new black Libertines each day, or night, that he went out. We thought of giving out the boots he used this past winter to someone in need, but since no one really wants used, stanky snowboard boots, we decided against it. Instead, we’re giving two lucky shreds out there the chance to win a NEW pair of RomeLibertine boots signed by LNP.

Here’s the first way to win:

Correctly answer these four questions and email the answers to winner@romesnowboards.com along with your full name and mailing address and we’ll pick one winner at random.

1. What type of liner does the Libertine boot have?

2. Name one thing that’s on fire in the No Correct Way Teaser (we mean real fire not in the 1994 NBA JAM “he’s on fire” sense)

3. What color do you prefer in the Libertine?

4. What mountain is LNP at where he’s up on a rail throwing the peace sign?

Here’s the second way to win:

You may notice in the teaser that LNP’s looking a little like Jimi Hendrix has possessed his soul these days. The question is, can you be go one step further in the 1967 hippie style?

All you have to do is send in a photo of you dressed up in your most hippie, (or not dressed up if your everyday gear is a Woodstock fest) and email it into winner@romesnowboards.com with your full mailing address and name and we’ll pick one winner with the best outfit.

All entries must be in by July 13th 2008

Winners will receive their boots by October 1st
