Emerica’s latest pro shoe model has been announced and it reminds me of the Carroll mid from Lakai. What ever happened to innovation in skateboarding shoes?
Jerry Hsu is awesome, but this shoe seems a little odd to me. I’ll have to see them up close to make final judgments. Check out the news and a video, here

Free music is always a great thing, and Eyeball Records is giving away a free compilation to introduce you to their line up of bands. If you’re into underground music, you’re going to love this compilation from Eyeball Records. The track listing is as follows:
01. Baumer - “In Your Stead”
02. New Atlantic - “Cold-Hearted Town”
03. The Number 12 - “Grandfather”
04. Sleep Station - “Always In The Fire”
05. Pompeii - “Numbers”
06. Kiss Kiss - “Satellite”
07. Jettie - “Start/Stop”
So it’s just 7 tracks, it’s a nice introduction to the Eyeball roster, and if you’re not familiar with the label, you’ll get yourself into some new bands and hopefully get yourself away from the cookie cutter main stream music world.
Plus it’s free, you can’t beat that at all. Click here, to get yourself a free comp, it’s worth it, seriously.
Bronx River Parkway
San Sebastian 152
Truth & Soul
Bronx River Parkway makes their debut on Truth & Soul with one of the best Latin jazz funk records that I’ve heard. This timeless sound is a collective product of Pablo Rodriguez (of Candela Records) and artist Rostarr that successfully presents the diverse sounds of Puerto Rico’s brilliant music scene. Excellent recording and overall soulful aesthetics make this album sound like it could have existed in the atmosphere of your favorite bodega twenty years ago. Veiled with the aged samba beats of the past, heightened with finger tapping instrumentals and coalescing vocals. San Sebastian 152 boasts the type of relentless sounds that make the forehead sweat. I like it. – Kelly D Williams, Mannerist Zine

Allow me to begin by answering a quote from one of this albums less forgettable tracks, “let me be a taste you have to acquire”, um… no thanks guys. This is a group with a ton of talent and zero originality. Honestly, listening to this album was like talking to a gorgeous dude asking predictable questions and giving predictable answers. I just kept hoping for something to redeem itself, but the bore kept pouring out. If you like John Mayer, or Teen Disney T.V. shows you might dig this stuff… might. - Ryan Stephens, Mannerist Zine

When you think of the Mega Ramp, you usually do not think of many street skaters. However, you can now put to that list a name that is synonymous with trash talking; Ryan Sheckler. Ryan Sheckler has conqured the mega ramp, and Plan B Skateboards has preliminary photos of the event, and video forthcoming. If you weren’t a Sheckler fan before, this might turn you into one, because it takes major balls to hit the mega ramp. I know I can’t do it, nor would I try.

Ska might not be the #1 music genre in the world anymore, but it still lives in the hearts of many of us music fans. Recently news broke out that there might be a Specials reunion, and a tour to follow. The band is in fact going to reunite for one performances, and is considering a full blow tour. They have some reservations, considering that some of them haven’t played the songs in nearly 30 years! The Specials brought two tone into new light, and could reignite the ska craze again!

Etnies and Jason Dill have again teamed up to produce yet another rad shoe. As you can see, the collabo is a low sneaker wrapped in a graffiti style print. Jason Dill’s name is embroidered on the back of the heel.

The guys in U2 have reason to celebrate this morning, as they have just signed a 12 year deal with concert promoters Livenation. There was an undisclosed amount of money that will promise the guys in U2 will not be broke any time soon. This of course does not change the deal that U2 has with Universal Music, and will still release music through that major label. However, Livenation will handle online branding and distribution of the rock group.
This of course is interesting considering the rumors of Motley Crue signing a similar deal with Livenation. Whatever the case is, Rock music and mega bands like U2 are still major revenue sources for major labels and those interested in the band as a whole.
So all those news reports about the music industry dying, might have not counted on major deals with bands like U2.
Alex, Lucian, and I have been building a little world comprised of 15th century japanese inspired characters and other feudal japanese elements. We have grand intentions of bringing them to life via a large installation style body of artwork here at the studio, limited edition prints, wallpaper, and integrating them in to all sorts of other goodies. We wrapped up the first three over the weekend in a super gloss meets super flat style and we’re psyched on how the little ladies came out. More of this steez soon!
