For those of you that are big fans of System of a Down, you probably already have the new Serj Tankian cd, which fits nicely in the world of System of a Down. But some of you might miss the guitar riffs that were driven by the guitar player of System. Well, now you can hear what the rest of the band is doing, sans Serj, as Scars on Broadway. A lot of speculation went into what they would sound like, but now the world will know! You can hear a new track from the band by clicking here. That’s right, free music again pokes its head out on a Friday.

Just when you thought Suge was out of the game, here he comes pitching a new reality show series that will chronicle his trials and tribulations in trying to launch a new record label. Along the way his cronies beat people up, visit “the hood” and generally take you behind the scenes of what it takes to launch a hip hop record label in todays market. Oh and here’s a sneak peak!

Fall Out Boy is not going to be doing that huge show in several continents after all. We did report that they were going to be venturing forth on that awesome simultaneous tour in hopes to bring awareness to some cause or something.

Who cares right?

Fall Out Boy can go back to doing whatever it is that they do.

Chiodos Concert Live in HD

chiodos-cover.jpg

In an interesting move by any band, Chiodos is going to be doing a show live online. This is not the first time a band has tried to broadcast a concert online, as many radio stations do this all the time for bands. However, this time it’s not going to be free, and the promoters are promising full resolution high definition streaming HD video. That’s right, HD quality streaming video and audio with multiple angles, and full interactivity with the band. That’s not all, you’ll also be able to request songs and hear what you want to hear from the band, all of this live and in full motion video.

The downside?

This is not going to be free for all. You have to pay 6.99 to enjoy all this, and that’s not too bad, considering they are promising to deliver a unique concert experience online, and do it right. Full HD! To get yourself a ticket to this interesting venue, click here, and read more about it. It still seems odd to charge for a concert online, and maybe other bands are going to join the fray of online concert promotions.

Heartsrevolution “Switchblade EP”

Heartsrevolution
Switchblade EP
IHEARTCOMIX

Heartsrevolution needs way more cred and attention than I can possibly attempt in this measly little paragraph. To get a feel for what this duo is all about you gotta check out heartschallenger.com. It isn’t the bands website, but is about the personas that form the HEARTS duo… kind of. But wow! Switchblade EP is definitely danceable. It’s the kind of record that you would catch “Misses Toughie Cool Hottie” brushing her teeth and flexing to in the morning. I was hypnotized by hypersensual vocals filtered only by the techy grit of the input device repeating phrases like, “foxes and bunnies, fire and snow”. I must also add that the rhythm and beats are precise and unique to each track, while keeping a cohesive handclap throughout the EP. Way to go team! - Ryan Stephens, Mannerist Zine

Justice of the Unicorns “Angels With Uzi’s”

Justice of the Unicorns
Angels With Uzi’s
Little Lamb

Justice of The Unicorns is the numinous music project of New York’s Rusty Dungan and troop. As the name of this band implies, Justice of the Unicorns is a tavern band with a penchant for fantasy tales and magical verse. The meddling theme of Angels With Uzi’s doesn’t give the band much promise of permanence, but maybe with lines like “In your dreams, the wild tiger’s eyes creep upon you in the forest,” their intentions are to do nothing more than endorse a chuckle. Like Thurston Moore singing the story line of David Bowie’s Labrynth, the novelty may be more compelling than the aptitude. This album juxtaposes blues and folk with contemporary synthetics and digital instrumentation to accompany you and your imaginary Might Be Giant on your journey to the land of Zorcon. Kelly D.
