EA Skate Comes To WII and DS

Finally, Nintendo fans can get a piece of the EA skate action. EA’s video game broke major ground in skateboarding video games, by introducing a more “realistic” skateboarding experience. Many of us have played Tony Hawk’s skateboarding video games, and are quick to note the anti-realism that is found in a lot of the gameplay. Even the latest version “Proving Ground”, with all its steps toward becoming a more “simulation” style video game, was just not that good.

EA skate on the WII is going to feature use of the balance board, and the long rumored “skateboard” controller. Those of you that have the DS will have full scale skateboarding simulation via the stylus.

I for one am not a fan of the stylus, but will venture to say that this is great news for Nintendo fans.

Seshn: How long did you live in Norway?

T.R: Well I was born in New York, but all my roots are from Norway. I lived there from the age of 8-18. I came to America to skate more and make something of the sport. It’s nice being an Amercian citizen, I can stay here forever and skate some of the best spots.

Seshn: So where do you live now?

T.R: Mt. Olympus, CA …..Hollywood Hills Baby!

Seshn: Who are sponsors?

T.R: Oakley, Grenade, Etnies, Girl Skateboards, and BME Click

Seshn: What video projects are you working on now?

T.R: Well I am always filming with [Ryan]Sheckler and Oakley. I actually have a commercial on the Oakley website right now.Beside that I am filming for SoleTec Europe and the Grenade Video ” The Boned Age”

Seshn: Wait a minute isn’t Grenade snowboarding?

T.R.: Yah it is, but Danny[Kass] has so much skate influenced style that he wants to branch out Grenade. I don’t know much about the project he blew up snowboarding so I have not doubt that he can blow up skateboarding.

Seshn: What are your favorite skate spots?

T.R: My 3 car garage in Norway…I had an ill mini skate park, Barcelona, and L.A

Seshn: What are your favorite cities to visit?

T.R: New York, L.A, and Barcelona…all to skate! The party scene is good too!

Seshn: So how is BME click for a sponsor?

T.R: It sure is a trip. We just did a photo shoot with the whole click for the new clothing line that is about to drop. We do have a lot of fun and kicking it with Lil Jon is wild for sure. We party like rockstars, and live it up big. Really though it’s pretty cool. I think the best time we had was at the Winter X Games.

Seshn: Who are your favorite people to skate with?

T.R: Wow there are too many to mention. But Danny Kass is one the best. Also my friends in Norway and my brother Thor.

Seshn: What are you going to do when you become rich?

T.R: I would have to build an indoor skate park for all my friends to hang out and have fun.

tom-1.jpg

Seshn: Who is your favorite skater?

T.R: Wow I get asked this question a lot. If I had to pick it would be Mark Johnson….he is just unreal!

Seshn: What is in your IPOD now?

T.R: Right now its a little Biggie and Rick Ross. I like to listen to everything from 80’s to Hip Hop. My skate style is influenced by music as well. So whatever gets me pumped and moving is what I like to listen too!

Seshn:  How many dates have you had this month?

T.R: I am too busy skating.

Seshn: Have you ever met a girl off Myspace?

T.R: Yah; we became goods friends….let’s leave it at that.

Shout Outz!

T.R: Grenade, BME, Oakley, Etnies, Girl Skateboards, all my family and friends, Janae and Ju, Danny and my Brother….oh the one and only Dingo.

The 4th annual Protect Poolparty is going to take place on May 17th at the Vans skateboard park in Orange County, and it’s going to be great. Sure, it’s not cool to wear pads, at least not in the media, but it’s nice to see a partnership between safety and skateboarding. Check out more information via the Vans skate website.
