Go Skate Day - DenverPosted on June 29th, 2008 by Tom Zittel | |
I know this is a little late but finally found the time to post these photos.
Boardpusher held a comp at Denver park for Go Skate Day, it was a blast. The sun was blasting and so were the shredders.
First up is the Pro/Am comp in the peanut bowl (9ft)

Before that there was another Pro/Am comp in the street course. Super fun to watch. Julian 1st Wyatt 2nd, and Lee 3rd

Levi Huffman with a big melon. (Levi had a severe head injury later that night, www.levilove.org)

FS blunt shuv out

Lee with a flip to Melon over the hip

Wyatt with a solid 360 flip, I have never seen him miss one.

Lee with a sick poked melon during his first run.
The finals for street were cut short by a near riot, some cops came to the park and arrested a skater for punching a cop in the face earlier that day and skating away. He nearly ruined the whole day, a second guy was arrested for starting a riot (chanting “let him go” and “F*%K the police” with the crowd) Everything finally quieted down and Julian killed it for the win.

After dark we went and set up some lights on a local 6ft pipe and had a sweet seshn. I would really recommend doing this if you can, it’s a blast.

Check Ian’s sweet sunburn from the day
