trespassing and transitions

Posted on by Tom Zittel |

Been skating everyday after work, best thing to get you through the day. I have a few photos to share.

On Memorial day we were setting up at the Golden Mill which is a feed store in downtown. It’s not a huge spot but a good place to warm up. After about three attempts the cops roll in. Happy Memorial day. Two filmers, Ian and I were ticketed for trespassing. Which brought Ian to an  all time high of four tickets in one week.

The sunsets have been pretty good for the last few days so we decided to do some shooting around that time. We were a bit late but had a blast on this little known mini. It’s amazing to skate this ramp, especially once it starts to cool down.

Ian, Levi and I went for a little sesh at a indoor “training facility” which turned out fun shooting and a free sesh for me. Ian loves methods after watching all our snowboard videos this winter, he has been talking about doing them out of wall-rides this was his first opportunity to try.

Daryl is a sick little shredder, he doesn’t drive so he skates all through Denver. You can usually find him at Denver’s public park flying around like a mad man. Best thing about him is how stoked he is on everything. He called me up the other night for a little shred through the city. I picked him up at the public park and we were off shredding the streets. I had my my fish and a hand held flash, simple and mobile.

On Saturday mornings Cartel Board Shop has been putting together some sick skate sessions. Basically what happens is at 7 am little shredders start showing up at the shop as well as some of the team. Anyone with a car piles in as many kids as they can and we all mash to a different skate park every week. These are some of the sickest little kids, its a blast teaching and mostly getting shown up by elementary and middle schoolers. They wouldn’t have the chance to ride any of the free parks outside of skating distance otherwise and its good to get the older dudes out of bed early as well.

These are my first roll of slide film ever. Stoked to move into a slightly different direction.
