Here are some more photos and write-ups from Maribeth’s adventures:
GRENADE GAMES- Another few fun-filled blurry days at June Mnt for the annual Grenade Games. I finally got to see Gabby again and it was nice to relax a little bit with some no- pressure shredding…
COLORADO HUT TRIP- I headed back to Colorado to join some canadians for a backcountry hut trip for DRIFT magazine. I met up with Mercedes Nicoll, Dominique Valle, Spencer O’Brien, a photographer, a writer, and our guide to do some hiking ‘Into the Wild’. We packed in lots of food and wine and not much else to live in a backcountry hut for 5 days & 6 nights. No cell phones, no computers, no running water, solar and headlamp lighting, woodstove heating, an outhouse, and lots of hiking… It sounds rough but it was truely an amazing experience. We all took turns chopping wood, melting snow for water, cooking, and cleaning. We had wine yoga sessions, many games of UNO, delicious meals, and fed Whisky Jack Birds right out of our hands! Oh- and Spencer taught me how to master the rubix cube! Nikita team rider, Leslie Glenn, and Caroline Oznik hiked up to join us for two days. The snowboarding was fun too but the crazy spring conditions were not that rad. I would recommend doing a trip like this at least once in your life if you ever get a chance!
TAHOE HEBE SHOOT- Vicci Miller and I went to Tahoe to meet up with Conny Bleicher, Aline Bock, and Silvia Schlereth to do a shoot for a HEBE (spanish magazine) story. They all came in from Austria and I soon learned that my Nikita Outerwear Teammate, Julia Baumgartner, was also supposed to come on the trip but she had injured her knee and would not be able to join us. To keep her with us, I wore my handmade JB beenie all week long! We had tons of fun riding resorts and back country all over Tahoe. We also met up with Nikita rider Lisa Filzmoser and a bunch of Euro guys one night for a big BBQ! Good times good times..
ROXY CHICKEN JAM- After Tahoe, we all went back down to Mammoth for the Roxy Chicken Jam. It was lot’s of fun and I got to see a lot of my friends for the first time all year!
MS. SUPERPARK- Then it was back to June Mountain for Ms. Superpark. The set- up was really creative and fun. There were also some pretty good parties!
